I am in the process of installing and testing a 4110xm. Two questions.
1. Do the End of line resistors (EOLR) need to be installed if all switches are Normally Closed? The schematic shows an EOLR connect to one side of an open switch and the other side going directly to the low side of the panel. I guess my question is, is the EOLR always required regardless of what type of switch is installed? (NC, NO) If the last switch in the loop in NC does the EOLR go from the low side of the switch to the directly to the panel screw?
2. I am installing several switches on 4 zones. All hardwired (no wireless, RF at all) For trouble shooting purposes and for clarity in describing my problem, I disconnect and disabled (programmed) all zones except zone one. (zones, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are currently disabled) On zone one I have a NC magnet switch with an EOLR connected. Regardless of what I do, the key pad continues to give a trouble tone and displays "check 9". Meaning I have a fault on zone 9. My panel only has six hard wired zones. However, on the programming form "Zone 9" is for "alarm report code, RF supervision" But I have no RF devices! I have followed the programming steps for Data field 59 (zone 9) that claims it disables the report by entering a "0" in the first digit. (I key in # plus 10 to send a zero according to the instructions) After exiting the programming mode I get a green ready light but a miniute later the Check 9 returns with the trouble tone. What the heck is going on and how do I fix it?
Feel free to call me if you need to and Thanks a ton……..
